Officiating a Funeral

Doug’s Dad Passed Away Late September

The news came almost at midnight Frankfurt time, as my younger brother called to tell me what had happened. I was so tired, and I was still waiting for guest to arrive for meetings.

My dad slipped into eternity the latter half of September. He had asked me to officiate his funeral many moons ago, so we made arrangements to fly to Texas.

God granted much grace and strength. I was very glad to officiate the services as it gave me much time to reflect and consider the gift my dad had been to me over the years. I don’t find it easy that he’s gone, but I do find gratitude growing for the times we shared.  I’m also grateful that Megan and Lisa had a chance to be with my dad in late August.  God is good.
