Preaching in Żory

Encouraging Church Planters

November has flown by.  It is hard to be leave that it is just before the real Thanksgiving!  I recently returned from a time of encouraging a denominational leader and one of his church planters.  It was a great trip, but a long drive.  Even though it was a city in Poland, it was a 5+ hour drive and one that was well wort it.

The difficulties in church planting in Poland are huge.  When I arrived I discovered this leader was really struggling (a surprise to me and rare candor for a Pole) with persevering in the course set to see a number of churches started.  As we prayed and talked through the weekend and with one of his church planters, much changed.  He felt reinvigorated and more committed to seeing God’s Kingdom expand through out Poland.

I also had the opportunity to preach on discipleship being simple obedience to Jesus in the power of the Holy Spirit too.  It was a lot of fun to preach in Polish and when I was done, one of the members summarized what I had said better than I could have ever done.  So God is at work!
