Watch Out for Snow

Dislocated Shoulder

So I get up to pray and intercede for Christ to rapidly extend His Kingdom throughout Poland and Europe with a friend.  We were to begin praying at 5:15 am and go till 6:15.  Around 5 am, I get a call that he is snowed in and won’t be coming.  I look out the window and see that about 18 inches of snow had fallen the night before -- quite a bit.

Lisa was up, so we prayed and interceded for about 1 hour, then I went to shovel snow.  It was a massive amount and needed to be shoveled before 7 am since the roads were really bad and it would take longer to get the kids to school.

About half-way through my project -- yep, you guessed it -- I slipped and fell squarely on my left shoulder.  Ouch!  And did it hurt -- it also felt like I had grown an appendage out of my rib cage.  The shoulder eventually returned to its place but not without some damage to cartilage and a lot of pain.  The doctors remedy?  Immobilize the arm for 4 weeks, until the 1st of the year.

Lisa, while driving to one of the doctors, mentioned that I had prayed that morning for God to slow me down (I was not anticipating His answer so quickly).  Fifteen minutes after we had finished praying, I was in the ground in pain with my shoulder and needing to shelve much of what was on my agenda for the next few weeks.

Yes, I am glad to have slowed down, but it has taken some time to get used to that idea.  If you remember, please pray for me as I work on my D Min paper; now long overdue since I am a one-armed typist!
