Two times Christmas

So here are the cousins, but this was not where Christmas started. Grandpa CA came to our house on Christmas Eve to spend the night. We enjoyed church, an evening meal, seeing Christmas lights, and opening presents — we did this because we knew we were all going to Grandma Woodson’s early on Christmas day. Why? Because she was hosting us all so that the entire Mitts family would be together, all the aunts, uncles and cousins.

We had a great day together, and of course a lot of food and conversation. The kids played some games, Stratego, Twister, and I even think some Chess and Farkle were played. In between events, some eating of pie and pastry happened. A highlight was the occasionally formed large circle that led to stimulating and fun conversation.

We couldn’t stay the whole day, so we made one more jaunt over to Grandma Horne and Aunt Jan. There we all enjoyed wonderful conversation, presents and rich time of being with family. We felt incredibly blessed and that God had given us something special through a long-overdue time with our families.
