Basel

In late May and early June, GEM had the fortune of hosting a training on the best practices of church planting movements around the globe for its leaders and missionaries. Steve Smith is the premier trainer on this topic, so we felt very fortunate to have him. Between 50 and 60 GEMers, nationals, and others were present to learn about the components, methods, and prayer that leads to massive movements of disciple-making. It was an unbelievably insightful time with some of the best pedagogy I have ever experienced.
If you are interested in more information on movements, Missions Frontiers dedicated one of their magazines to church planting movements and is a free download. There is also a new website, T4T Online, that will allow you to explore the topic a little more.

We believe that God is preparing Europe for movements similar to those happening in the India, the Far East, Africa and other places.
In essence, it boils down to dependency on God, prayer, obedience, simple reproductive methods for sharing the gospel and discipling, while being intentional to see the process replicate through others. (I can show this picture from Basel -- but remember, I’m behind the camera).
