Leading a Spiritual Life Retreat
Yes, we did this in January near Paris. It was cold, but not too cold. We did not have any rain, but we did have cloudy days. The retreat center provided us plenty of space to get alone with God, read His Word, pray and listen.
We led the first spiritual life retreat in GEM, and we felt God’s presence — all of us. We were amazed at what God did in each person’s life and how the participants' intimacy with Him became a real felt experience. The end had people in tears for what had happened.
Yes we shared on disciplines of the spiritual life, attending to God’s presence with us, but mostly we fostered and atmosphere where missionaries could relax, rest, be present to God and let Him speak. Funny thing, when we do that, He really touches lives and fills them with His love, grace, and power. I know the place doesn’t look like much, but God shined His face on us all for those few days. I also felt His touch in an amazing way. Thanks for praying!
