Reflections on the Experience
Wow -- I’ve been asked, what was it like? How did you feel as you baptized both of your children? The answer is mixed with a lot of emotion. First, there is joy as both Megan and Michael were fully aware they were making not only a public profession of their faith, but also clearly making a choice to follow Christ.
The joy spills over into thankfulness to God for answered prayer -- many years of prayer. Lisa and I will readily admit we are not perfect parents, so we are grateful to God for His work and very proud of our kids.
I don’t know really how to describe the feelings, yet that day I experienced the warm joy of a father who loves his kids and takes deep pleasure in them and the way they are developing.
