Grieving Loss

On April 17, 2010 Poland gathered in Kraków as did heads of State from many countries of the world.  Some were prevented from arrival due to the Volcanic ash from Iceland.  Poland, however, collected not only in Kraków, but other cities to public viewings of the funeral services for President Lech Kaczyński and his wife.

In Poznań, many came to the public viewing.  We were present to share in the grief with our host country concerning their loss.  Not only did the President of Poland and His wife lose their life in that tragedy, but 94 other people did as well, most of whom were government, military, civic and religious leaders.

Doug had the chance to preach the following week regarding God’s heart in the midst of tragedy.  After, a number of people came forth and spoke of the need to hear of God’s great love and grace, especially when tragedy occurs.
