Focusing Mission
Generally in January of each year GEM’s Leadership Team (GLT) meets just prior to the gathering of the Field Leaders, when issues related to the implementation of mission and vision are discussed.
This year, we saw God do amazing things both in congealing the overall leadership of the mission behind 50-in-5, “igniting discipleship movements” in 50 cities in 5 years and giving us momentum. More than that, a number of missionaries desire to transition their existing ministries toward fulfilling this vision.
It is big, exciting and overwhelming. There is much to do and we need your prayers. There is flexibility in the Cities, although we are aiming toward a specific 50. The Holy Spirit is the one leading (we see this much bigger than GEM) and He’s already adjusting the priority of cities.
50 cities in 5 years is not the end, it is the beginning. God desires 100s of Europe’s influential urban centers to experience the transformation that only Jesus can bring. Please pray for God to continue to lead, to bring people committed to this vision to open and coordinate efforts to see these cities engaged with discipleship and church planting movements.
