A Plea for Prayer
As I have been contemplating and praying for Europe and reaching it for Christ, I realize that no one person or group can accomplish this. We need your payers. Prayers that specifically focus on church planting movements that grow out of a discipleship process that sees the tremendous worth of Jesus Christ, not as the Lord of religion or even Christianity, but the Lord of all (the biblical view, Acts 28:30, Eph 1:21-22). The valuing of the King translated into intrinsically-motivated, Spirit-filled obedience of all who trust Christ would literally transform Europe and the world.
So the New Initiatives Team in GEM wants to see church planting movements in all the major cities of Europe with the goal of seeing every segment of society transformed due to the presence of disciples on mission with their Lord, Jesus. China has made great strides forward and transformation is on the way. Do to the rapid multiplication of the Chinese house churches as an unstoppable force, the communist government of China recently added the word “religion” to the communist party constitution. Amazing, and a strong sign of what the presence of millions of obedient disciples of Jesus can do.
I’d love to see that happen in Europe. So I plea, will you pray for church planting movements to arise in the major cities of Europe? We are looking for people who are first disciples of Jesus, entrepreneurial, winsome, can strategize to reach a whole city (Luke 8:39 NASB), and are outcome based in their approach. That’s the plea. It is for prayer; it is for people; it is for movement. We want to start in seven cities this year: Madrid, Paris, Brussels, Amsterdam, Stockholm, Prague, Athens.
