SLOT Art Festival is held each year on the grounds of 800 year old Monestary in Lubiąż, Poland. The event seeks to attract youth from various subcultures in Poland and it does this well, to the tune of about 5-6,000 people, mostly around college-age. Tents are everywhere and that is how people who attend live for the week of the festival.
There is music, there are art seminars, there lectures and all this is for allowing Christ-followers to be with people who are a still on their journey to Christ. We had a number of opportunities to interact with people concerning Christ and everyone we spoke with is in a different place.
Doug also had a chance to connect with the leaders of the underground church around the world. This was both enlightening and encouraging. God is working in places we would never imagine!
In case you are wondering. Megan loved it; Michael would have liked to have a friend with him. Mom and dad seemed way too old for the late nights, yet Lisa loved the music. It was a great blessing to be a part of this, and our kids want us to do this next year!
