Missional-incarnational

During his time in Zory, Doug emphasized with the church planters the need to live out of “sentness”, being on mission with God wherever you find yourself and living out of the values of the Kingdom. Mostly living those values means blessing others and living out of abundance and generosity rather than lack. Lots of time was spent over the Scriptures concerning the Kingdom values seen in Jesus’ life. The goal is to give people a taste of the Kingdom and to draw them into a conversation about the unbelievable goodness of God as seen in Jesus and who reigns in that Kingdom.
For Doug, the most enjoyable part was walking around these places with the church planters and attempting to engage people with the sole desire to give them a flavorable taste of Christ. Encouraging them with the ease we can live out of “sentness” when we embrace God’s values.
So what is missional-incarnational? It is going out on mission with God wherever you are and while going, incarnating the person, values, and heart of Jesus Christ as you go.
The men I met with in Zory got that, and they showed it on their faces.
